Pro basketball is back in downtown Stockton this weekend. The Stockton Kings open their 2026-27 season Saturday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. against the Santa Cruz Warriors at Adventist Health Arena, the team announced.

The Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, are coming off a run to the G League Finals, their second straight trip there. Stockton finished last season as Western Conference champions before losing the best-of-three Finals to the Greensboro Swarm, falling 119-104 in Game 2 on April 11, according to the team. The Kings won the G League title in 2024-25.

Fans got a first look at the new roster Sunday, Nov. 1, at the team's free Fan Fest at the arena, Stocktonia reported. The Kings lost that preseason game to Santa Cruz, 128-113. "I think the Kings could have played better defense for one, and they need to get control of the boards," fan James Gibson told Stocktonia.

Opening Night

The team is billing Saturday's game as "Opening Night: A 209 Celebration," presented by Sutter Health, with 209-themed entertainment and community activities on the arena's Fan Deck. The game's event page on Stockton Live asks fans to arrive early to get through security and ticket checks.

More home games this month

The season starts with a 14-game Tip-Off Tournament that wraps up at the G League Winter Showcase in December. Records then reset for a 36-game regular season, the team said.
