Crews are repairing a sinkhole at Airport Drive and Roberts Lane after a water line broke over the weekend, 23ABC News reported.

Kern County Public Works says the broken line is operated by Oildale Mutual Water Company.

One eastbound lane and one northbound lane will stay closed while crews work. The traffic signals at the intersection are temporarily off, so drivers are asked to slow down and use extra caution. Pedestrians are also asked to be careful crossing there.

Parents picking up children from nearby schools should plan to leave early because the lane closures could back up traffic.
